Long Covid: Past, Present and Future – with Dr. Ziyad Al-Aly

For International Long Covid Awareness Day coming up on March 15 we did an  interview with Dr. Ziyad Al-Aly on Long Covid Past, Present and Future. 

Dr. Ziyad Al-Aly is clinical epidemiologist with the Washington University in St. Louis and the Director of the Clinical Epidemiology Centre and Chief of the Research and Development at the Veteran’s Affairs St. Louis Health Care System. 

Dr. Al-Aly led work which provided the first systematic characterization of the after effects of a Covid-19 infection and he is one of the most well known Long Covid researchers in the world.

In 2024, Dr. Al-Aly testified before the U.S. Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee as an expert witness on Long Covid. 

 He was named one of the 100 most influential people in health in 2024 by TIME100 Health.
